Monte Mapu: Paine, Chile

March 4–6: Dial-in your environmental awareness by stepping into a youth movement of presentations, performances and workshops at the wildly popular Monte Mapu International Festival of Ecology, Ethnicity & Culture. Monte Mapu (Save the Earth), written in the native Mapudungun language of Chile’s south-central indigenous Mapuche, strives to drive awareness in the study of our Earth’s ecosystem.

This year’s event is hosted within the Rancho del Sol campgrounds, located approximately fifty kilometers south of Santiago in Valdiva de Paine, Chile. Visitors to this eco-culture production will enjoy cultural stage presentations, participate in ecology developmental activities and celebrate amongst an eclectic arrangement of reggae, fusion, electronic and alternative music. Workshops for the family include mandala paints, yoga for kids, healthy eating seminars and titere art.

The MonteMapu official site (in Spanish) can be found here.

Location: Rancho del Sol Camping, Interior Valdivia de Paine, Chile.
